This is my latest DIY project, and I have made progress. Yayyy me!!! What started as a weekend project has turned into a week project but that is ok, because I will conquer and get the staircase I want. The carpet on the stairs was challenging and exhausting. It seamed like I was sweeping it every other day. Who would think that stairs would collect so much trash. I expect to sweep my new staircase often as well, but it will be easier to sweep.
I started around 4 PM Friday and it took me all night just to remove nails, staples, and wood trim whewww. I used extra white semi gloss paint for the risers because it can be wiped clean. I have not stained the treads yet but I am going with a dark color.
